It seems that while many fans may have seen Ezra Miller, The Flash in the Warner Brothers Justice League film franchise, as the franchises hopes for a promising future, the speedster couldn’t outrun the legal troubles that come with a lack of impulse control.
The 29-year-old actor is facing criminal charges for alleged involvement in two separate incidents that happened at a karaoke bar in Hawaii over the weekend of March 25 and 27, 2022.
In a press release, the Hawaii Police Department confirmed Miller was arrested early Monday and charged for disorderly conduct and harassment due to the incidents. According to the news release, officers responded to the complaint at an unnamed bar on Silva Street in Hilo on Sunday about 11:30 p.m., after multiple reports about disorderly conduct.
Police said the actor became "agitated" by people singing karaoke at the bar and started to use derogatory language.
"Miller began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts," the HPD added. "The bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times."
Following the arrest of Miller his troubles did not end. Two Hilo residents filed for a temporary restraining order against the Justice League star in the Third Circuit District Court on Tuesday. According to court documents the pair claim that Miller both harassed and threatened them. The documents also allege that due to Miller’s wealth and fame, the celebrity would have little trouble obtaining a weapon with which he might do them harm.
As of now, Miller has yet to formally respond to the matter and many fans believe that it appears as if Warner Brothers Inc. will continue to ignore the issue.
The Flash is currently scheduled to be released June 23, 2023, but some fans are wondering if this latest controversy will delay the film’s release more than it has been already.
Some fans on social media are actively calling for Ezra Miller’s firing in light of his alleged antics, some citing previous trouble the would be speedster face in 2020 when it was alleged that he reportedly choked a female fan.
The earlier incident had already prompted many fans to call for Miller’s removal from the DC Comics role with one twitter fan known only as “@drewshabitauls,” calling for Miller to be replaced by CW Heart throb Grant Gustin who plays the role on television. He tweeted “Grant Gustin is talented, a dork, has the biggest heart, is the best Barry Allen and most importantly never attacked anyone.”
It is unclear how this latest incident in Hawaii will effect Miller or the film, but is certain that this is just one more in a long line of troubles Warner Brothers Inc. has had related to the DC Comics film franchise.
