Wife Shares Updates and Asks Fans for Thoughts and Prayers
In the new millennium, there are many more adult themed cartoons or animated series, and among the most beloved by fans is Aqua Teen Hunger Force or ATHF as many refer to the show. Perhaps one of the fan favorite characters is known as Frylock, voiced by the incomparable actor and HWWS WebTV Alumnus, Carey Means.
On March 31, 2022, Carey’s wife, Leah Levin Means took to social media to announce that her husband, the beloved voice actor had been hospitalized for trouble related to his heart.
“This is his wife. He is in the hospital,” she wrote. “He has high b
lood pressure, close to a heart attack, but NOT one!”
At the time of this article there had been very little change or new information. Means’ wife was shaken and worried for the actor, but remains hopeful.
“They seem confident that meds, diet, and exercise will fix everything. This we can do without a problem,” she wrote. “They are keeping him here, not sure how long. (A) few days maybe.”
Mrs. Means shared some photos from his bedside, and news that although the couple had been separated in the ER due to COVID 19 Restrictions, she would be reunited with him soon.
“It may not be anything major, we don't know everything yet, but his EKG was abnormal, so it's something to do with his heart.” She said in her post. “They are going to keep him for a few days to get the swelling to go down. They have him on Lasix, I just hope that the meds work.”
“They wouldn't let me sit with him in the ER waiting room earlier because of COVID (19) restrictions,” she told fans, “but I am going to go down there in a few to see him and bring him a phone charger. It’s Grady (Hospital), so he is in the best hands in the city.”
Means remains in the hospital as of the time of this article and his wife has since been at his side. Mrs. Means encouraged fans to send their heartfelt thoughts, best wishes and prayers, and said she hoped for a full recovery.
"Anyway," she comleted her statement, "pray for him please. I know it helps big time. I am worried, but I have faith he will be ok.”

Means STABLE: Diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure

Following so many Hearfelt hopes, prayers and well wishes from fans, Carey Means’ wife Leah Levin Means confirms that her famous husband has Congestive Heart Failure.
“Its congestive heart failure...” Means wrote in a social media post. “Now that doesn't mean a death sentence! (it) Just that his heart sometimes works extra hard and its getting really mad about it and it doesn't like that.”
Congestive heart failure is a serious condition in which the heart doesn't pump blood as efficiently as it should. Despite its name, heart failure doesn't mean that the heart has literally failed or is about to stop working. Nearly 5 million Americans are currently living with congestive heart failure (CHF). · Approximately 550,000 new cases are diagnosed in the U.S. each year.
Mrs. Means went on to say, “… me and Carey gotta do some changes to our diet and exercise to help it out. That means, actually, you know.... moving around.”
In keeping with the well-known voice actor’s sense of humor, his wife went on to write about how Means might have wound up in his present condition.
“I got lazy, and he got lazy, and we are just lazy,” she joked, “and its pretty much why we match so well, cause we like being lazy on the couch watching Aqua Teen cause, you know, who doesn't?”
Means is in stable condition and with the help of his wife Leah, has some difficult but doable life changes to make to recover.
